How we recognise this grape

With Gamay we look for vivid red fruit, violet and pepper, supported by supple rather than drying tannin. Served lightly chilled, its juicy energy can resemble Pinot Noir, but it is usually more openly fruity.

This is a practical tasting cue from our Wineflight experience, not a fixed recipe: origin, ripeness and winemaking can shift the profile.
